                                                                   TEMPORARY SEASONAL FINANCE INTERN

Salary $20/Hourly  (Temporary Seasonal)

The City of North Branch is offering an opportunity for qualified and interested individuals pursuing (or already attained) a Degree in Accounting or Finance to be introduced, exposed, and mentored in accounting and financial work within government finance. 

General Duties:

Be a self-starter, willing to learn new skills and accept responsibility, take direction from supervisors, and work well in a team environment and individually. Must have competency with account reconciliations, journal entries, assist in preparation and review of annual budgets, assist with payroll reporting, performance of accounting functions pertaining to general ledger, grants, accounts receivable, accounts payable, projects, preparation of month-end financial and statistical reports, assist with ERP implementation, assist with keeping accurate project costs for billing and reporting purposes, conduct research and analysis on assigned accounting problems, office work and filing and perform other duties as directed. Finalists for the position must be able to pass a drug/alcohol test and complete a background check.

Pursuing or completed degree in Accounting, Finance or Equivalent

Schedule can be flexible during normal business hours of 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

20 – 30 hours per week, non-benefits eligible

Start date on/around May 1

The position will be funded in part by grant received from MN Government Finance Officers Association.

                                                                 FULL-TIME MAINTENANCE I

Salary $25.57/Hourly (Union Wage for 2020)

General Duties:

Be a self-starter, willing to learn new skills and accept responsibility, take direction from supervisors, and work well in a team environment and individually. This is a non-supervisory position to perform operations and routine to skilled maintenance work on city buildings, grounds, city parks, vehicles, equipment, wastewater plant and it’s operational components including sanitary sewer and storm repairs. This position requires on-call/on demand reports for duty and the candidate hired for this position must be able to report for duty within 20 minutes after having been called in. Finalists for the position must be able to demonstrate that they are able to meet response time requirement and must pass a drug/alcohol test and complete a background check. 

Minimum Requirements:

Must have municipal experience and a Minnesota Class A CDL with Tanker endorsement.
Minnesota wastewater licensing preferred but not required.
Must report for duty within 20 minutes after having been called in.

FULL-TIME BUILDING INSPECTOR/CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER

Salary $53,747 Annually

General Duties:

Under limited supervision, the individual will perform plan review and inspection services which will assure that City's Building, Zoning and related codes (blight, nuisance, etc.), policies and ordinances are enforced and administered throughout the City. Ideal candidates will be responsible for disseminating information to citizens, developers, and City staff regarding state and City codes; working with citizens in complying with state and City codes; responsible for preparing correspondence to persons in violation of City codes and doing the appropriate follow-up to ensure compliance. Minimum Requirements:

Education and experience: Possession of a Limited Building Official certification by the State of Minnesota, ICC or equivalent. Must possess and maintain a valid Minnesota Class D driver’s license with satisfactory driving record. Three (3) years of residential or commercial construction experience or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job class. Septic licensure or the willingness to obtain Residential or commercial inspection and plan review experience.

                                                                                  VOLUNTEER POLICE RESERVE OFFICER
